A quick heads-up on how things work here – I occasionally use affiliate links for products and services I genuinely use, test, and recommend. Clicking these links and making a purchase might earn me a small commission at absolutely no extra cost to you. These commissions simply help me continue my passion for experimenting, sharing honest insights, and keeping the gears turning on this site. Every recommendation comes from my own hands-on use. Thanks for joining me on this creative journey! Now, let’s get back to the good stuff!

Cleaning your Dynavap is straightforward. Start by disassembling your device; each component is held together by simple friction, so you can just pull them apart.
If any parts are difficult to separate, try running the device under hot water while gently twisting and pulling. For the best flavor and easiest cleaning, make it a habit to clean your Dynavap regularly. Frequent cleaning prevents stubborn buildup, making the process much simpler than waiting for heavy residue to form.
Before deep cleaning, identify any parts made of wood, acrylic, or silicone and set them aside. These materials require more delicate care and should never be soaked in isopropyl alcohol or other harsh solvents.
Basic Cleaning
For initial cleaning, warm water with a bit of natural dish soap will usually suffice. With your delicate parts set aside, soak the more durable pieces in this solution to loosen any residue. Gentle scrubbing tools like cotton swabs, pipe cleaners, and microfiber cloths can help remove more stubborn buildup.
Cleaning a Used Device
For a more thorough cleaning, I recommend using food-grade ethanol like Everclear or isopropyl alcohol (70%+). Be absolutely certain to pick one that doesn’t contain Ethyl and to let all the alcohol evaporate before using it after cleaning! Avoid using alcohol on delicate parts as it can damage them. Alcohol is effective for removing sticky residues but hot water with mild soap can also work, though it may require more scrubbing.
The reason I recommend these products is because they are very effective at breaking up the sticky residue / oils that vaping herbs can produce inside the device. You can also use hot water and a natural clean soap as a cleaning agent in place of alcohol, but it will take a bit more physical labor to clean. There are other aftermarket solutions out there but they tend to cost more and don’t work noticeably different than alcohol in my experience.
For more delicate parts like the cap, silicone, wood, and acrylic / mixed materials, a gentler approach is needed.
The Cap
Caps typically don’t require frequent cleaning. Warm water with mild soap and gentle scrubbing is enough. Avoid alcohol, as it can be flammable if not fully evaporated. *If* you decide to use alcohol, stick to alcohol swabs and thoroughly dry the cap before use. Boiling off liquids have been known to damage the temperature discs which is why it’s important to make sure the cap is thoroughly dry before use.
Removing Patina or Scorch Marks
To remove patina, soak the cap in warm vinegar and scrub with a soft toothbrush. Baking soda paste can also help: apply and let sit for 15-20 minutes, rinse, and repeat if needed. Alternatively, stainless steel cleaners or Bar Keepers Friend may restore shine. Follow the packaged directions for safe handling and be sure to rinse all chemicals thoroughly before use.
Silicone
Silicone parts can retain flavors, especially if cleaned with scented soaps or alcohol. Hot water alone can often refresh them. Silicone pieces are on the cheaper side, making them more affordable to replace if needed.
Wood / Acrylic / Mixed Materials
For wood, acrylic, or mixed materials – avoid direct contact with alcohol. These materials can be sensitive to chemicals so handle carefully to preserve their appearance. Use minimal alcohol only on metal parts and protect other areas with wax to prevent wear.
